Dr. Vasant Honavar
Huck Chair in Biomedical Data Sciences and Artificial Intelligence

Biography : Dr. Vasant Honavar received his Ph.D. in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin Madison, specializing in Artificial Intelligence. Honavar is currently a Professor of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), Computer Science and Engineering, Bioinformatics and Genomics, Neuroscience and Operations Research at Pennsylvania State University. He currently holds the Edward Frymoyer Endowed Chair of IST. He is also the founding Director of the Penn State Center for Artificial Intelligence Foundations and Scientific Applications and the Center for Big Data Analytics and Discovery Informatics, Associate Director of the Institute for Computational and Data Sciences, and Co-Director of the NIH-funded Biomedical Data Sciences PhD program, and Informatics lead (research) for the NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. In 2016, Honavar was appointed as the Sudha Murty Distinguished Visiting Chair of Neurocomputing and Data Science at the Indian Institute of Science. Prior to joining Pennsylvania State University, Honavar served on the faculties of Computer Science, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Neuroscience, and Human-Computer Interaction at Iowa State University (1990-2013) and as a program director in the Information and Intelligent Systems Division of the National Science Foundation (NSF) (2010-2013) where he led the Big Data Science and Engineering Program and contributed to multiple other programs.
Dr. Priya Baboo
Senior Director Corporate & Industry Engagement in College of Engineering

Biography : Priya Baboo is the Senior Director of Corporate and Industry Engagement for the College of Engineering at Penn State. She provides strategic leadership of all aspects of industry partnerships for the college, including sponsored research, philanthropy, professional development, and career opportunities for students.Prior to joining Penn State, Ms. Baboo held several leadership positions culminating with P&L responsibility for a business unit at VideoMining, an in-store behavior analytics firm. She co-invented several proprietary retail analytics approaches that resulted in patents and has extensive experience in commercializing university research concepts. Ms. Baboo fostered and grew relationships with several Fortune 500 companies, mentored multi-disciplinary teams, successfully launched several new products, developed new analytical applications, and provided strategic leadership to organizations. She has been an invited speaker at several conferences and has co-authored articles in leading trade publications. She holds an M.S. in Supply Chain Management from Penn State and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Madras in India.
Dr. Elammaran Jayamani

Biography : Dr. Elammaran Jayamani joined Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus (SUTS) in 2007 as a Mechanical Engineer lecturer. Dr. Elammaran is currently serving as a Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator of the Mechanical Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering, Computing, and Science. Elammaran received his BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras, India, received his Master of Technology (Energy) from Pondicherry University, India. His Doctor of Philosophy (Materials and process) at University Malaysia Sarawak, Malaysia, has completed his Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education) at the Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. His research interest involves Polymer matrix composites, Energy and Environment sustainability, and Thermo-fluids system.
Prof. P.S. Robi

Biography : Prof. P.S. Robi has completed his PhD in the year 1995 from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India. He has around 25 years of teaching and research. Presently his is a Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Guwahati. He has served as the Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering and later as Dean R&D at IIT Guwahati. Prof. Robi has published more than 40 papers in peer reviewed International journals. Presently he is supervising 11 doctoral thesis. His area of Research Interest Aluminum alloy development, Hot deformation Mechanism Maps, High entropy alloys, Creep deformation of High temperature Materials
